Our experience at Traffex 2024

RUGGED MOBILE Systems exhibited at our first Traffex tradeshow at the CBS Arena, Coventry on 22-23 May 2024. We met some wonderful companies with fantastic potential applications for our AI Edge Computing solutions on our Stand B58. 

Traffex, is the UK's leading road and highways tradeshow that provided two days of inspirational content, networking and product discovery. This shows mission is to deliver Better roads for a better tomorrow  by providing the knowledge, products and connections to drive innovation, efficiency, safety and sustainability across the road network. Supported by National Highways, Traffex brings together local authorities, contractors and suppliers responsible for maintaining and managing the UK road network.

In 2024, Traffex had a brand-new home, the CBS Arena, Coventry. Also for the first time, Traffex was co-located with Parkex, Evex and Cold Comfort combining access to all shows on one free ticket.  There were five brand new content stages at Traffex, accessible for free with your visitor badge, as follows:

Now in our 17th year, RUGGED MOBILE Systems, is a specialist supplier of industrial grade computing hardware platforms for demanding in-vehicle and roadside applications.  We have an abundance of experience in delivering projects that include rugged, durable, AI/Edge hardware systems for video analytics, ANPR systems or any AI system requiring powerful computing at the edge

For the past 17 years we have been the UK Value Added Distribution Partner for Nexcom Inc’s MCS division – who are a leading global manufacturer of in-vehicle, computing hardware.  Over this period, we have supplied edge-based compute hardware for advanced video analytic and communications for in-vehicle and transport related applications.

Nexcom’s extensive portfolio ranges from latest Intel Atom based systems through to top end i3/i5/i7/i9 cpu’s, with extensions to support advanced AI applications at the edge. 

• The Nexcom range also includes solutions based on NVIDIA AI cpu’s to give very powerful analytical capability for in-vehicle, or in-depot uses.
• The Nexcom systems are E-marked, have extended operating temperature range, and meet MIL-STD 810G vibration and shock standards, and are 5G and Wifi 6 ready etc.
• We also have extensive experience of customising these systems to precisely meet customer requirements.

RUGGED MOBILE Systems presented Nexcom’s new NVIDIA based AI in-vehicle platforms, based on Orin Nano, Xavier, Orin NX and AGX Orin processors, with support for MIPI or PoE cameras.  These platforms provide AI at the Edge to enhance vehicle safety. We also presented a range of robust notebooks, tablets, handhelds and peripherals all built to work whereever you do. 

We had a really positive two days, discussing the latest rugged computing hardware options with visitors to our Stand B58.
